Use Little Snitch to find downloaded files

Postby mbagni » Tue May 08, 2018 5:25 pm

Good day to everybody,

I really love Little Snitch since it gives me the feeling that (almost) everything is under control but there is something that I have not been able to do and maybe someone can help me:

sometimes happens that I see a great amount of traffic coming from the Internet, clicking on the daemon that is the responsible of such traffic is good but I am asking: is it possible to know the name of the file (or the files) that are the result of such traffic?

For instance today, as soon as I opened my MacBook I noticed a full throttle internet dowload activity that stopepd when the daemon (I do not remember its name) had downloaded 800 MB of data. I tried to use the Finder to locate the recently added files or the recently changed files but nothing.

It would be super if Little Snitch could have told me where those bytes were going inside my HDD.

Any suggestion?

Thanks a lot for your collaboration.

I like that idea. Maybe hooks to fsevents could be added.
