Feature Request: Clipboard History
Feature Request: Clipboard History
It'd be nice to have a clipboard history (both pictures and text).

Me too

It's already planned to be added to LaunchBar.
If any inspiration is needed, look to http://jumpcut.sourceforge.net/ . I really like how that is done. Easy is the keyword

What great news! This was one of the main features that I was leery of losing when switching from Quicksilver (although its clipboard plugin left something to be desired; it crashed on me more often than I'd like).
Any Update on This?
Any idea when this feature might be coming? This is the only thing keeping me from switching back to Launchbar from QuickSilver. QuickSilver is very slow and buggy. Launchbar is so much faster. But having that clipboard history is so handy that I can't give it up.
This would be great, I'll look forward to this!
If/when it's implemented please add an option to 'Paste as plain text'.
Butler does it well where you paste & it pastes 'as is' retaining any formatting. But if you hold down the Option key while pasting (selecting a pasteboard slot or if you hit a number key relating to the corresponding pasteboard) it will paste as plain text.

Clipboard feature
The market is crying out for a reliable Clipboard tool,
Please Can the NEXT RELEASE OF LAUNCHBAR HAVE A sophisticated CLIPBOARD FACILITY
I have tried ALL the clipboard products for mac
Shadow clipboard
iclip 4
Jumpcut etc
I have tried them all (30 or 40 at a guess and 40 hours investigation)
But I wasn't happy with any of them
In my opinion All current clipboard applications for mac are flawed,
I eventually bought iclipboard (the best of a bad bunch) as it WAS the best during the trialing phase. The best for ME i mean.
The first few uses appeared to go well, But then it started to really let me down. Heres a few of it's instabilities:-
Not recording (suddenly the last 10 things you copied aren't there) because the program stoped recording (usually happened when you cleared the cache of the clipboard)
Not launched/Not running. You set it up to launch automatically at startup.
Most of the time it works (70% of the time), but sometimes the moment you need it to just be running automatically, it's not there and is Not running. You feel very frustrated and badly let down (ESPECIALLY HAVING PAID MONEY FOR IT)

Clipboard Utility including history
Would be great! Sure has my vote. But until then you might try this utility:
Its called "Stuf".
http://www.theescapers.com/
Does everything I want even lets you name your clips, etc but it is not free.

clipboard request
The more that i use various clipboard applications the more then the more that i realise that I don't like any of them. Some have the idea of a floating board. A floating panel eventually starts to become annoying. Some operate from the an icon on te top menubar. A dropdown selection from the menu bar requires too much mouse movement. Some offer a side-drawer which pops out when you move the cursor to the edge. A side drawer that pops out is also not the answer (again constant mouse movements become a pain). I think the answer is a smart "last copy" idea that is activated by a keyboard shortcut.I was trying to think how i'd explain it's operation, but probably the best way is to take a look at a firefox extension called LastTab. Although it has nothing to do with clipboards, it will demonstrate how i would love to see a clipboard application behave. i.e. unintrusive, intellegent, activated by a shortcut. ME TOO PLEASE!
Every existing clipboard manager is abandonware to some degree. There is a gaping hole in the marketplace for this product. Integration of a clipboard stack would elevate LaunchBar from it’s already super-god-like status in my application pantheon to ... I dunno, what’s bigger than super-god-like? Super-god-like with clipboard stack, I guess.
Save us from awful clipboard managers, Obdev! You’re our only hope![/i]
