LB6 & reminders

Post by robertb » Sun Jun 22, 2014 1:46 am

LB6 doesn't show my Reminders lists, only a heading with Reminders Lists. The index, under the productivity heading, shows Reminders, but the list area is empty. I've tried updating the index, rebooting the computer, etc. Am I missing something? Is there a way to manually add the lists? (Calendars and Contacts, by the way, work fine show everything they're supposed to show.)

If LaunchBar is set to index Reminders, it should. I only have one list on my machine but I can add items to it like so:

1. Bring up Reminders in LB
2. Right arrow to show individual lists
3. Select list and press the space bar

When you press the spacebar, LB turns into a text entry field you can use to add an item to that list. You might be able to omit the first step by just searching for a specific list and pressing the space bar.

Thanks for the suggestion, bseymore. But what you describe is my problem: I've got five or six lists in my Reminders app and none of them appear in index rule. If I follow your directions, there is no list to select. I'm sure it must be a setting or something else I've overlooked. But I can't figure out what.

Hmm... I just created a new list in Reminders and it came up instantly in LaunchBar. If you go into LaunchBar and go to Index > Show Index, are your lists checked in the Reminders section? If so, click on Options and see if Access Items via Sub-Search Only is checked. I've attached a screenshot if that helps.

Thanks very much for your suggestions, but I've finally found the source of my frustration on the lack of lists:

Somewhere along the line, in my machine's System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy, I had denied LB access to Reminders. A checkmark in the box next to LB solved the problem instantly.

Duh.

That would do it! Glad to hear you figured it out!

I've only just started tapping into the power of LaunchBar, but I've noticed something that seems a bit strange to me. When I use LaunchBar to enter Reminders, when I tap the return key to save the reminder, Fantastical opens on my Mac. I end up having to edit the reminder in Fantastical.

Is this related to LaunchBar's Fantastical integration, and if so, is there any way to disable this behaviour? Thank you!

Change "Create calendar events with" setting.

Feature request:

Option to use Reminders for reminders, and Fantastical for calendar events.

It seems as though I have to choose which one to use for both at the moment?
