Custom search template with hash (#) broken in version 5.2

Postby chmurph2 » Thu Apr 19, 2012 5:06 pm

Hello,

Search templates like this used to work:

Code: Select all

http://somesite.com/some_page.html#/path/*

In 5.2, the hash is escaped and becomes this:

Code: Select all

http://somesite.com/some_page.html%23/path/*

Can this be fixed? There is no alternative URL for one of the sites I'm using.

Thanks,
Chris

I'm seeing the same broken behavior in LaunchBar 5.2

Used directly from safari the hash (#) character works fine:

Code: Select all

http://website.com/#/search/somewords

Results: SUCCESSFUL SEARCH

But calling via LaunchBar with this URL:

Code: Select all

http://website.com/#/search/*

does not work because LaunchBar subtitutes the %23 entity:

Code: Select all

http://website.com/%23/search/somewords

Results: PAGE NOT FOUND - 404

It would be nice to see this fixed, and allow hash (#) characters to go through unaltered.

This issue is fixed in the newest nightly build (5.2.1-912). The nightly build is available on our homepage or via Software-Update. For the latter option you need to enable »Show pre-release versions« in LaunchBar Preferences -> Update.
