Adding menu item outside of WebYep

Post by jendavis » Thu Oct 17, 2013 3:39 pm

I'm creating a dummy WebYep site ( using WebYep version 1.7.3. The home page is my WebYep template. The "About Us" and the "Birdie Babies" pages are just content "pages" of the home page template. But the "Contact Us" is a separate page, and not part of WebYep. When I create the menu link on the home page menu to the Contact Us page, I typed in the name of this separate page (contact.php), but the URL for that page shows up as ... DOC_INST=3. Is there a way to not have the ?DOC_INST=3 on a non-webyep page URL?

I had a similar Problem a few years ago (2010). The Support told me there is no Way around the adding of an Instance when generating Links with the Menu-Item. The only way was to hard-code a PHP Doc_inst=-Reset in the receving Site (your contact-us Site) - right after WebYep-Init Code (I know your Site is not part of the WY-Sites, but something like that should work):

Code: Select all

BUT - I just tried it out of curiosity with the 1.7.3 - Version and it didn't work. :(
Maybe the calling of the Instance had changed? Unfortunately I'm not a Programmer ... so anyone around?

To solve the Problem - maybe you just need to think around the Corner?
Do you really need the Contact-Link within the Menue itself? There are many ways to archive a result ...
