Cookie law in the Netherlands

Post by Eelco » Mon Nov 05, 2012 3:27 pm

Since june 2012 the European cookie law is effective. In the Netherlands the law is very restrictive regarding cookies: only cookies that are "functional" are allowed without agreement.
Would the WebYep session cookie (for regular visitors of a site, without logging in) count as "functional"? I am not sure and I hope someone could clarify this

Thank you for your helpful reply :-|

(edit: the previous post above this reply was deleted. It was not helpful at all)

Actually, the law will be changed again after less than half a year, because a lot of sites would refuse to show visitors any content if you did not accept cookies.

Hi think.... the cookie law is for cookies that are derived from outside the website for example google analytics isn't actually part of your website but is outside... as for regular visitors... I am not sure if this has any bearing because the visitors aren't actually logging in and therefore not activating the cookie part.. again I cant be absolutely 100% about that but I think thats correct.

Kind regards max
