Problem editing CKeditor toolbar when used with WebYep

Hi.

I wonder if anyone has experienced the same problem I have with trying to hide unnecessary toolbar buttons in the CKeditor UI when used with the WebYep rich text component?

I need to hide some of the toolbar buttons and have gone through the process described by CKeditor's documentation by modifying the config.js file.

However, this seems to make absolutely no difference to the appearance of the toolbar displayed.

I appreciate that CKeditor is a third party bolt-on but as it's recommended as a tool to enable the rich text editing in WebYep, I was just wondering in anyone could advise me as I'm completely stuck!

Any assistance gratefully received!

Cheers

Steve

Hi steve I started to use CKeditor but in the end resorted back to TinyMCE as it was way easier to especially when it came to things like restricting the available buttons
you can do this by creating special document called

Code: Select all

inymce_init.php

and placing it in the opt folder
then change its contents... this is the standard stuff:

Code: Select all

mode : "exact",
theme : "advanced",
convert_urls : false,
relative_urls : false,
plugins : "safari,style,table,advhr,advlink,iespell,insertdatetime,searchreplace,print,contextmenu,paste,noneditable,visualchars,nonbreaking,spellchecker",
theme_advanced_buttons1_add_before : "newdocument,spellchecker,separator",
theme_advanced_buttons1_add : "separator,forecolor,backcolor",
theme_advanced_buttons2_add_before: "cut,copy,paste,pastetext,pasteword,separator,search,replace,separator",
theme_advanced_buttons3_add_before : "tablecontrols,separator",
theme_advanced_buttons4 : "styleprops,separator,visualchars,nonbreaking",
theme_advanced_toolbar_location : "top",
theme_advanced_toolbar_align : "left",
theme_advanced_path_location : "bottom",
valid_elements : "*[*]",
invalid_elements : "",
remove_linebreaks : false,
apply_source_formatting : false,
theme_advanced_resize_horizontal : false,
theme_advanced_resizing : true,
theme_advanced_resizing_use_cookie: true,
nonbreaking_force_tab : true

All you would need to do is adapt this to your requirements.
There is copied from the standard instructs that come with the web yep download and you can find it under the Richtext section
Now you can do this sort of thing with CKeditor but I found it not very intuitive so in then end I have gone for TinyMCE
Hope this helps and all the best Max

Hi Max

Thanks so much for the tips. I'll give TinyMCE a try.

Cheers
