Hardcoded new instances for pages

Post by Eelco » Sat Dec 17, 2011 5:27 pm

I have an old website where the client want to add a new page, but he do not want to include this in the menu.
I could use the "read more" WebYep element, but that would mean I have to add this to the pages and would involve development time.
…and the client is not really a customer: I did this website for free…

I did a quick test: if I link to a new instance of a page in a "long text" WebYep element (something like "http://phptest:8888/follow.php?DOC_INST=2") it does work. I was wondering however if this would be reliable enough. Of course I would make sure to tell the client to use a DOC_INST number high enough!

Yes this would work and is also reliable. However, the content of this page will not be deleted when you delete the link (as happens with a page created by a menu link).

That does not matter for now: it is only a page with text on it and I could delete the elements by hand (eventually).
Thank you very much for your reply!
