WebYep.Freeway initial server setup problems

Post by xgraphica » Tue Jul 12, 2011 4:29 pm

Hi all
First post here.

I'm trying to add a small cms section to a website but I can't get WebYep to 'take hold".
I've tried one web server (Active24) but when I get to the log-in screen it is completely blank, so can't get any further and the WebYep contect isn't shown:
http://www.xgraphica.net/cms_test

or a different server (Demon Internet):
http://www.xgraphica.demon.co.uk/cms_test/index.php
all it shows is the source code. Without the "index.php" part all I get is the directory.

Anyone encountered this before - I'm suspecting it's more a server-side problem but I don't understand enough about sever settings to argue the case with the two providers (Demon Internet & Active24)
If anyone has experience of being able to get WebYep up and running with either of these two I'd be grateful for some pointers as neither are being helpful at all!

Cheers
XG

http://www.xgraphica.net:
WebYep is not prepared correctly on this server. (What does that mean?)

http://www.xgraphica.demon.co.uk
This server is not set up to deliver PHP pages at all. You can't use WebYep on this server (see System Requirements).

Marcus

Thanks for you response. You've now totally confused me!

http:wwwxgraphica.net/cms_test/
fails to work. You have identified the fault as WebYep not being prepared correctly on this server (Active24)
I've gone back into the 'data' folder on the Active24 server (xgraphica.net) and made sure the permissions are set to 777 and all boxes are checked. Still no text/content in the log-in window.

but in the meantime I have 'borrowed' a clients server (Namesco) and uploaded exactly the same code to:
http://www.philiplyons.info/cms_test/

This works fine!
So I'm left thinking that the problem is more with the server than the files/configurations I've uploaded...or have I just got lucky on the 'borrowed' server?
( I can't leave the web pages on that server so will have to find a solution to get a cms working on the Active24 server.

Thanks for your help (and the time you have put into looking into this for me - I appreciate it)

Cheers

Ok, WebYep is now prepared correctly but the server is acting strange. From outside I can't tell what's going wrong.
If you're unable to solve this issue, please make a support request, since a public forum is no good place for debugging sessions.

Without going into too much detail, yes that would be possible.
