WebYep with absolute image URLs?

Post by twb716 » Sat Sep 25, 2010 3:48 pm

Is there a way to have WebYep automatically create an absolute URL for an image that is uploaded? Anyone?

If you upload an image using the WebYep Image Element or the Gallery Element that image will have an absolute URL.

You can get the URL by right-clicking the uploaded image displayed in the page and choosing "Open Image in New Window" from the context menu in your browser (or a similar menu item - depending on the browser you're using).

Thanks. Next question: is it possible to have an image element have a "default" image? For example, I would like to set a default image in my design program that is used for a button on a page created by the WebYep menu element, but would like to have the client be able to change the image if they so choose. Is this possible, or will the client always have to upload an image initially? Thanks again.

Unfortunately the Image Element does not offer a default image setting :(
If no image is uploaded it simply displays nothing.

Thanks for the reply. I figured as much. This might be a cool feature, however. This way a person wouldn't be able to change the image, but WOULD be able to change the URL that it points to. Thanks again for the info.

You might want to try something like this:

Code: Select all

<?php if(webyep_bIsEditMode()) { ?>
<div><?php webyep_shortText("EditableLink", false); // WebYepV1 ?></div>
<?php } ?>
<a href="<?php echo webyep_sShortTextContent("EditableLink", false); ?>">click me</a>

The "click me" can also be replaced by an image (a static img tag - not a WebYep Image Element!)

Thank you! Where would I put this code? I am using Freeway with the Actions Suite from Max Fancourt.

Ooops - sorry. I thought you're coding manally. In Freeway I'm not sure how/where to place raw PHP code :(
You might want to contact Max on that.
