change sites footer

Post by saha » Sat Jul 03, 2010 10:47 pm

I have created WebYep!-site with Rapidweaver. Site has been up and running about year now with lots of content created with WebYep!. Now I need to change sites footer text. How should I do that? If I change footer in rapidweaver and then upload it to server will I lose all content created with WebYep!? Or do I have to change all footer texts manually on server? If so what will happen to new pages that will be created with WebYep!?

At first let me say that creating backups of everything is always a good idea before making changes that affect many pages

Now to the question:

Actually this is one of the big advantages of WebYep: The content entered by the editors is not stored directly in the pages in the server, but in data files the webyep-system/data folder.

Therefore by just adding some HTML code (footer) to all the pages and re-uploading them to the server you will not loose the content!

Just make sure the site structure (file and folder names) stays the same.
