Lightbox or Mediabox for page links

Post by daviddelmonte » Tue Jan 19, 2010 10:51 pm

Hi, is it now possible to use LB or MB with http statements and/or images?

If so, how..?

I saw a thread from a year ago, but no word since then,

Best regards

David

Not sure what you mean by "http statements and/or images" - please elaborate.

Lightbox can be used with the WebYep Image and the WebYep Gallery Elements.

Johannes, thanks for the reply. I want to have a Lightbox (or equivalent) effect for http calls, so that users do not leave the client site.

I understand from the Lightbox website, that it can support http requests. However, it's awkward to say the least.

To use a lightbox release for an http request, you must take the code you want to use, for example "<a href="http://obdev.at" rel="lightbox[Obj Dev]">Objective Development</a>", go to this site: http://centricle.com/tools/html-entities/

Then paste in the reference and encode it.

Finally, somehow, this must be pasted into the webyep text or link box. I do not know how to do that.. I'm looking but would appreciate ideas. This could be very helpful to a lot of people.

David

ps. from the Lightbox site:

The conversion to HTML entities is needed for WebYep Short and Long Text Elements.

When using the Rich Text Element you can enter (via source code) any HTML code - thus also the link you constructed.

WebYep does not itself offer a feature to open links in the Lightbox.

Did you try to use such link (with rel=lightbox...) by entering it directly into the HTML code of a test page that includes the Lightbox (without a CMS)? Did that work? Can you post the URL of a page showing this?

Good idea. I will try this next. (I have to figure out the LB code).

Thanks
