Usually it's simply a:
1. Download the webyep-system folder along with the rest of the website from the old server and upload it to the new server.

2. Make sure to set the permissions of the webyep-system/data folder on the new server (the "Activate WebYep" command in the Dreamweaver Extension).

That's it.

Here just two topics that can be imortant:

1.
Make sure the URL path for each page stays the same. The server name may change, but the folder and file name must stay the same.

e.g.
http://www.somehostname.com/somepage.php
may become
http://www.otherhostname.com/somepage.php

But if the folder name changes:
http://www.somehostname.com/somepage.php
becomes
http://www.otherhostname.com/subfolder/somepage.php

then the page-to-data connection of WebYep is lost and the pages will appear empty.

But you can correct that by opening the webyep-system/data/documents file (a text file) and adapt the paths in there.

2.
When downloading the webyep-system/data folder from the old server, sometimes you get permission errors. Some hosts configure their PHP module incorrectly and then the files generated by PHP may not be read by the FTP client. In that case, contact the server admin and ask him/her to correct the permissions of all files in the webyep-system/data folder to make them readable for the FTP client.

Cheap Linux Hosting. What tips on moving a WebYep site to a new host?[/quote]

I have one WEBYEP site to move so really glad to find these instructions which apparently work so I'll try. Also have another site hosted on yahoo and built using their yahoo sitebuilder and this site has really messy code and yahoo is more expensive with les functionality than other web hosts so I want to move it and redo the site. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated!
