DFS automount

Postby jdelisle2 » Fri Jul 15, 2011 9:21 pm

I'm interested in automounting a DFS share.

First, how do I cache credentials for a DFS share? I've tried "sharity login smb://foo.com/root/homedir/win -s -U jdelisle2" but it gives me "Not logged in". Should I just cache credentials for all the paths the DFS points to? This seems to work, but I wonder if it's the correct way to do it.

Second, how do I automount a DFS share? Normally, as per the manual, I just create a symlink like "ln -s /CIFS/docs\[server\] ~/myserver" and it works great. With DFS, how do I do this? I've tried creating a symlink like that, but it's not working. Maybe I'm specifying the path incorrectly?

Any tips or tricks would be appreciated. We purchased licenses specifically to achieve this - automounting DFS paths on-demand from our linux servers.

Thanks!

Automounting directories are now invalidated by .d_revalidate()
so to be d_instantiate()d again with the right DCACHE_NEED_AUTOMOUNT
flag
