Sharity mount dropping in Linux

Postby tim.aultman » Tue Sep 14, 2010 10:51 pm

We are running Sharity 3.6[715] on Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3 (Taroon Update 4). Mounting files on W2003 fileserver. Seems to work fine but periodically the mount just goes away without warning in the messages file. And when I activated debug log, there was no indication in there either. It just goes away and I start getting nfs errors in the messages file. Sometimes (rarely) i can recover by running sharity force-reload. Most of the time, I have to kill sharityd manually, unmount /CIFS using the "-l" option, manually clear out the sharity entries in /etc/mtab, and then restart with sharity.init.

For some reason, the frequency has increased (to a couple times a day) and the users are getting restless.. managers looking for heads... cats running scared... etc.. you get the picture.

Has anyone experienced this type of behavior? Any suggestions? I have a debug file to look at if I knew what to look for....

thanks in avance! tim......
