Sharity 3.7

Postby jlm » Wed Jan 20, 2010 3:50 pm

We are using Sharity 3.7 to reach an AD domain controller. Occasionally we get this error:

sharity-userd[8168]: [ID 702911 daemon.error] userd/err: uproccLdapQuery: cannot determine domain through Kerberos

At that point, you cannot navigate down to the subfolders on the CIFS share. If you unmount the share and remount it using Sharity, the problem gets resolved. However it is happening about once a week and causes many failures when this happens.

The OS is Solaris 10 Sparc.

Has anyone seen something like this?

May be a bit late now -- Please contact our support if you need help from the developers.

But just in case you still care: Sharity needs to know your domain and it derives it from Kerberos. This may fail if your Kerberos ticket is outdated or if Sharity does not find the "correct" ticket cache in /tmp. I would recommend that you refresh your ticket and kill the sharity-userd process running under your UID.
