Double Cmd again to dismiss ?

Post by free » Mon Jun 22, 2015 5:21 am

After Double Cmd activating LB, Is it possible to double press Cmd again to hide LB, just like what it does in Alfred and Quicksilver? Thanks!

+1 -- like Quicksilver. What's much worse is that it opens something by default if you do it out of habit.

No. That will never happen. If you're used to other software, use those instead of trying to make LB like them. We're used to LB and want to keep that behaviour.

Let me explain why. Let's say you want to get to File myFile.txt, which is in myFolder. The file is not indexed so you've to go to myFolder, and then find it. When you enter myFolder in LB, instead of scrolling tonnes of files/folders, you can just use some abbreviation for myFile.txt (MF will probably work). Notice that typing anything will only search names in that folder (myFolder), if you type MV for Mounted Volumes you cannot get to it. This is where you'll have to use your LB shortcut; to exit searching that sub-"category". If we use your suggestion then you'll have to use LB shortcut to make LB disappear, and use it to show up again.
