is there such a thing as a calculator snippet?

I perform one particular calculation regularly throughout a working week, and am keen to find out if I can use launchbar solely to calculate it:

=(cost/1.165)/1.1

I'm looking to either enter or paste the cost amount into the calculator, then append the required snippet formula into it, and copy the answer out once calculated.

I'm currently using Keyboard Maestro and Launcher to do this, but was wondering if there's a quicker way.

Thanks in advance,

You can actually do this with a search template:

Code: Select all

x-launchbar:calculate?argument=*&expression=(@/1.165)/1.1&title=f(@)=&result=@

You can then select this template in LaunchBar, press Space, enter the function argument and hit Return to get the result displayed in large type.

Or invoke it via Instant Send - e.g. select a number in a text document, press and hold Command-Space to send the number to LaunchBar, type an abbreviation of your search template and hit Return.

Look at this forum topic for further examples:

Just what I was looking for Norbert, much appreciated. I hadn't come across the search template functionality for calculators, just awesome.

Thanks again,
