Assign keyboard shortcuts to launch any application

Post by drylight » Wed Oct 08, 2014 5:24 am

I was wondering if LaunchBar allowed you to set some keyboard combination to launch a specified application? I don't mean by first pressing CMD + Space to bring up LaunchBar, then entering some keys to launch an app. I mean by pressing a combination of keys, which launches that app, without LaunchBar having to appear.

For example: I may set CMD + Option + M to launch Messages.

Is this possible?

Not with LaunchBar. But you can do this in Karabiner https://pqrs.org/osx/karabiner/ with some configuration of the private.xml.

Thanks for the response, @jpcirrus. I actually ended up doing it with Slate (which I was already using, but didn't know it could do what I wanted until sometime yesterday). https://github.com/jigish/slate
