missing categories

All of a sudden I'm no longer able to see categories for tiffs, jpegs and a few other file formats. These files do show up in my index though.

Any suggestions?

I am having the same issue. I am guessing you posted after upgrading to Leopard, which is what I just did. I no longer have a PDF category. Instead there is Preview Documents, which contains gifs, etc as well as pdfs. I don't really understand this. Maybe it has something to do with this:

Anyone know any way around this?

thanks for that - the problem did indeed arise after upgrading to leopard. I still haven't solved it, and neither have other apparently. I'll have a look at the link you posted. Thanks again!
