Index updates with system reboot - this is a problem

Postby mendocinotim » Wed Feb 27, 2013 10:10 pm

I have noticed that Launch Bar will rebuild it's Applications index every time I reboot my system - which means I can't use LaunchBar to goto an App until the index is done. Why does this happen, and how can I prevent it?

Why not make the index available, just as it was before reboot - and then silently update it in the background?
This would at least allow opening the apps with LaunchBar right after a reboot - yes?

Please advise on this.
Thank you.

This might be exactly what I've been complaining about here: http://forums.obdev.at/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6725#p24830

This is new behavior in Mountain Lion. Actually in Snow Leopard the same thing happened but it happened instantly. In Mountain Lion, everything is gummed up for two minutes at launch time.
