Recently opened items

Post by sabdal » Thu Mar 17, 2011 7:17 am

I thought Cocoa applications you would right-arrow and see the recently opened items? This used to work on OmniOutliner but does no longer. ANybody know why?

Dear sabdal,

The »recent documents« feature is available for all Cocoa applications using the default interface for recent items but not for Carbon applications or non-standardized applications.

Please open this folder: /Users/manfred/Library/Preferences
and take a look if a file called »[your app identifier].LSSharedFileList.plist« is available e.g. com.apple.Preview.LSSharedFileList.plist

If not, LaunchBar is unable to access the items. But as you have mentioned, it already worked before?

Manfred,

I also am seeing this problem. I used to be able to access the recent documents for OmniOutliner. The PLIST you asked about existed in the location specified. I deleted it, reinstalled OmniOutliner, and re-indexed my LaunchBar items. Still not able to access documents.

Hello Jacob,

Please contact our support and attach the plist file. We have to take a further look on it.

Thanks in advance!

Sabdal contacted our support team. In his case deleting LaunchBar's caching file was the solution.

  1. Quit LaunchBar
  2. Remove this file: ~/Library/Caches/LaunchBar/AppInfo.cache
  3. Restart LaunchBar and update the index
