Can LaunchBar "see" aliases ?

Post by Walter » Mon Sep 06, 2010 2:05 pm

My G4 has two internal drives. Rather then duplicate certain applications I just have one application installed to the main hard drive and an alias of the application in the second internal drive.

When I am signed ( booted ) in the second drive how do i get Launch Bar to "see" the alias ?

When I select "Index" from the LaunchBar apple menu and then go Applications/Options the use Mac OS LaunchServices database is ticked ( selected ) but that choice is "grey'd" out and i can't figure out how to "un" grey it to uncheck the check mark.

Then you have to change the search scope from "Search Everywhere" to "Search in Specific Places". Searching for apps everywhere only works in conjunction with the LaunchServices database. In contrast, when you select "Search in Specific Places", you have to specify a list of folders whose contents shall be searched for applications.
