Snow Leopard Exchange Address Books

Post by Steve28 » Tue Aug 25, 2009 9:48 pm

Is anyone using LaunchBar with Snow Leopard? I have LB 5 RC3 installed on the GM version of Snow Leopard. I also have an exchange server based address book set up in Apple's Address Book app. However, LaunchBar is only indexing the "local" address book and not my exchange one.

I have the same issue, OS X 10A432 with Exchange configured Address Book and Calendar. Launch Bar only indexes the local accounts and not the exchange configured account.

Just verified with RC4, Launchbar is still not indexing my Exchange configured AddressBook and iCal. However the QuickLook is working perfectly fine.

Yes, me too. It does not index the addresses in the Exchange address book from iCal.

This one hurts! I'm really missing having my contacts right at my finger tips... a MAJOR feature for launchbar pre-snow leopard! Boo hoo!

I have put the upgrades of LB's on hold in my org, till SL support is fully integrated. And this feature one is way on top of the list. The two app I love/use most MailTags and LaunchBar are both not ready for SL (Or should I say Exchange Support on Mail)

Can we get an official perspective on this topic from Objective Development? It would be great to know if this has been noted, prioritized, etc...

I'm having the same problem and this is one of my main uses for Launchbar. Is this fix in the works?

We would love to add support for Exchange address books. But unfortunately, up until now we haven't been able to figure out how to get access to this data. Apple's developer documentation is rather sparse in this regard. Actually, the entire documentation only mentions that Exchange support has been added at the application layer. There is no mention of a developer API. We currently use Apple's AddressBook.framework API to access the address book data, but obviously this API doesn't provide access to Exchange address books.

Any updates on this? All my contacts are now in my AB via Exchange, and I miss being able to access them via LB!
Thank you,
Erik

Are there any work arounds for this problem? Does anyone know if the LB folks are working on a solution? The functionality of LB is greatly diminished by not having access to my exchange contacts.

I think /System/Library/Address Book Plug-Ins/Exchange.sourcebundle/Contents/MacOS/Exchange does the trick.

Could you elaborate on this? I don't seem to have anything in my Address Book Plug-Ins folder.

Have you found a way to get LB5 to recognized exchange addresses?
