Visual feedback for ClipMerge (feature request)

Post by watag » Sun Mar 15, 2009 10:19 am

It'd be nice if LaunchBar as an alternative to the acoustic feedback (which one should be able to turn off!) offered optional visual feedback. It should look something like Apple's screen flash in System preferences-->Universal access-->Hearing. To make it distinct from a system beep it could, for instance, flash only a portion of the screen or do it in a different color. This would be useful for the hard of hearing or people like me who have headphones plugged in but don't always wear them.

Another independent reason one should be able to disable the sound is that MacBooks etc turn off their sound card when there's no audio for a while and, if external speakers are connected, opening the audio device often causes a "popping" sound. Perhaps removing all the files in the ClipMerge folder works for this purpose? Note that changing to a silent audio clip wouldn't work.

I would like to second this old feature request. For anyone using ClipMerge in a library where laptops must be on silent, visual feedback would be enormously helpful.
