Clipboard history size

Post by hkk » Thu Jan 29, 2009 11:20 pm

Why is the clipboard history limited to 40 items?
I would like to set this to something like 500.
If you are concerned about memory, why not (optionally) limit the size of items stored in the history?

Replying once more, hoping to bump this to the top.
The more I grow accustomed to using LB, the more it comes to me naturally, the smaller the clipboard becomes.
Already, in real world situations, I often try to paste items from this morning or from yesterday and they're no longer there.
If this is an artificial limit, please extend it. 400 or 800 items would be nice.

Maybe this would be practical if there was a cap to the size of items added to the history. Working in photoshop with large files this feature just hurts me.

Though his remark about limiting the total size of individual history items seemed like an afterthought to his primary comment about wanting a limit on the total number of history items.

Basically, I only copy text items anyway, so size shouldn't be an issue.

I have only been using LB for about a week and just purchased it. I LOVE IT!!!

I too am noticing that the clipboard limitation to 40 is a bit too small, maybe you could just leave this up to the user to manage? I think we are all power users here and can handle our own memory consumption like grownups :)

+1

Glad we can set it with defaults write, but IWBN to have large values supported in the app... If it is just a config parameter, let me just enter the number I want, don't limit me to a set of pop-up choices.

Clipboard history is such a power tool, I will gladly waste memory on it.

i think it's because of the UI it's not confortable with a lot of lines (try by yourself)
the developer need to do some work ;)
