feature request: search open/save panels?

Post by Mauri » Sat Jan 05, 2008 5:20 pm

One feature I miss in LB ist the ability to search open/save panels.
It would be incredibly useful for selecting files. Scrolling through a long file or folder list is not very user-friendly in my opinion. ;)
Is something like this planed for future releases?

This is no real solution for the save-panels, but you could try to avoid open-panels in general by always selecting the file first in LaunchBar, then sending it to the desired application.

Also it might help to select the folder in LaunchBar and darg it to the open/save panel. I don't know of a way to do this using only the keyboard, but if you find one, please let me know!

regards,
Ludwig

thanks for the hint. I never used LB this way. ;)
hm i don't know if LB can drop a item to a open/save panel. it would be quite useful. I still hope Obdev would implement a feature like this someday.

LB can infact drop items onto open/save-panels. Use it all the time. LB can do almost anything you can imagine...

Could you tell us how?

We mean dropping via the keyboard, not using the mouse. I use the mouse feature quite often, too, but would like to do it with the keyboard.

Thx,
Ludwig

Ofcourse not with the keyboard only. I didn't know that was a requirement :)

Well… not a requirement: a wish :)

thank you for your answer, though.
