Launchbar & 10.12.4 Betas

Postby Stempnakowski » Fri Mar 24, 2017 1:37 pm

I've noticed that since running 10.12.4, when I invoke Launchbar the LB window pops up, but there is a 6 to 10 second delay before anything I type appears in the LB window.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I notice the same thing.
Even in the public version of macOS Sierra 10.12.4, there's always a delay of 6-10 seconds every time I restart my computer. Really annoying. I thought it was just me.

Looks like the delay is because Launchbar 6.9 with the Mac OS Update doesn't store its index in a cache. Perhaps it doesn't have permission to write to its cache.

So Launchbar has to rebuild its index every time you restart your Mac. This is why there is a delay.

But if @fileorgin is correct, then reinstalling Launchbar 6.9 will fix the problem. But it did not fix it for me.

If you turn on Show Indexing Progress, Launchbar 6.9 will show the indexing that it is doing when it starts up.

While Launchbar is indexing, you cannot invoke it until it finishes indexing. This is why there is a delay. And this is irritating and reduces the functionality of Launchbar.

We need an update.

I deleted Launchbar's cache folder after quitting the app.

The cache folder is located at ~/Library/Caches/at.obdev.LaunchBar

I then restarted Launchbar. It rebuilt its indexes and recreated the cache folder.

It seems to be working better, like before I upgraded to Mac OS 10.12.

The post is from a spam bot, which includes the links to spam sites that have nothing to do with LaunchBar. When you quote their entire post, with links, from the bot then you are helping the spammers.
