We need iCal support!

Post by soulbarn » Wed Dec 19, 2007 8:33 pm

I'm sure lots of Quicksilver users are heading this way; I've been using Launchbar for years, but have tended to weight my usage to QS mostly for the ability to create iCal appointments and To-Dos directly within QS (http://docs.blacktree.com/quicksilver/plug-ins/ical).

I've seen a few valiant, but somewhat kludgy, attempts to do this in Launchbar. Is there anyone working on a better way?

thanks,

Dan

Hi!
I'd say it depends on your definition of "rather kludgy", but Applescripts are perfectly capable of handling this task.

On a somewhat broader topic I'd also like to know whether plans exist to integrate 'plugins' of any sort in the near future.
Maybe some sort if GUI for Script variables, so we could have a custom view that looks like the iCal edit HUD and use it generally for script inputs… or do it the QS way?

But I'd also like to emphasize that I don't really get all the QS vs. LaunchBar - I don't think either is perfect, and they complement each other nicely for me.

Still an interesting thought (sorry if I went off-topic  )
greets, Ludwig

Do you know how to make the Event have an alarm?

I have the preference to add an alarm to all new events checked, but an event created with this service does not have an alarm.

Thanks for any tips.
Ken
