Retype delay to infinity?

Post by vatic42 » Tue Dec 04, 2007 9:31 am

Hi,

Is there a way to set the retype delay to infinity?

Thanks,

Matt

I think the longest you can set it to is three seconds.

I would like an option to set it to infinity. Sometimes, it's better to just backspace until you get it right.

I also hate the retype feature and would love the option to disable it. Until then, I figured out this workaround:

1. Exit Launchbar
2. Under your user directory, open the file ~/Library/Preferences/at.obdev.LaunchBar.plist
3. Look for the RetypeDelay field and change its value to whatever delay you'd prefer.
4. Save and exit
5. Restart Launchbar

Good tip! Thanks very much! :D

Hope to see a proper UI implementation some time in the future, but this will do for now. Thanks!

This doesn't seem to work anymore :(

Any other ideas or suggestions. I really dislike the fact that i have a limited amount of time to enter a search term.

My suggestion would be to set it as short as you can and just retype. The reasons are:

- most of the time you will find what you look for after 2 or 3 letters. It makes no sense to delete and retype again.

- In actions, which request complex input you have unlimited time to type and correct.

It is just a workflow thing, coming from alfred I've found this behaviour strange, now it makes perfect sense, so I'm down to 0.5 sec. Just don't bother to correct, it is a time waste in LB.
