How to combine two actions together?

Postby pavel.pola » Tue Mar 29, 2016 2:37 pm

Hello,
I'd like to combine these actions to the lowest possible steps:

- select a text
- call LaunchBar
- convert the selected text to Base64
- paste in place of selected text

I have a XML file where I have to encode all values to Base64 format and I'd like to do it in the lowest possible steps.

Could you help me, please?

Thanks,

Pavel

You can actually do all these steps with integrated LaunchBar features. No own action required.

Just select the text and hold ⌘+Space longer and type "base" to find the "encode into Base64" action. Press enter to see the base encoded text. Then press ⌘+C to copy the text. Escape out of LaunchBar and paste the text... Done.
Hope that helps, even though the answer is pretty late...

And you can actually do it two steps faster! Once you've got your base64 encoded version of the text, just hit ⇧-RETURN. That'll do the same thing that ⌘-C, ESCAPE, ⌘-V would do in a single step.

I just found out about the ⇧-RETURN trick and am loving it!
