I haven't received any answer yet too (bought Little Snitch just 2 weeks ago!)

@neoblitz If you reinstall Yosemite you will be able to get 3.5.It is that simple. The reinstall is free of course. It really should be simple if LS had their ducks in a row.Whatever you do do not write to LS and beware of a Tech whose name is SIMON. After he receives your request and delineating you problem he forgets you. This kind of Tech should be summarily dismissed.

yeap.. after upgrading to yosemite i cannot install the update to 3.5.

tried using uninstaller, as well. the installer just hangs and says "not responding"
tried removing all rules and then trying to run update ...same result.

if we need to re-install yosemite why don't they just says so out of courtesy

JayO wrote:I finally got 3.5 to install by doing the following :
1- Boot into safe mode by holding down the shift key after the startup chime.
2- run the Little Snitch standalone updater from the Objective website
3- reboot into safe mode with the shift key again
4- use Onyx (http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/11582/onyx) or a similar utility to rebuild all the caches (including the boot cache)
5- reboot normally and enjoy LS 3.5 :-)

It didn't work for me (Mac Pro 1,1).

I second that. 3.5 is the worst version

-- "Until Quit rules are now valid until both the parent process and via process have terminated."
this was the worst idea obdev ever had, whoever came up with it should be demoted. It really should read - Until Quit no longer works cause some process along the line wont quit until you restart

It’s very odd. Usually there are nightly builds available too. Not this time.

This is a posting on MU that bears reading on the effectiveness and general security of LS 3.5.Dauph.V Member Icon REVIEW
+1
Dauph.VNov 21, 201412345+1After upgrading to version 3.5 I found some significant issues which raise concern for me in regards to security. When alerts pop-up and "Until Quit" is chosen for either Accept or Deny after that application is closed the Temporary Rules are not cleared.

The current documentation matches and is consistent with the behavior of prior releases.

I feel this is a major flaw that should have been caught with proper regression testing. The security issue is that you may believe that after closing the application the temporary rule(s) would be cleared as well however they are not thus when the application is launched again you're not notified of this and information is allowed/denyed based on the temporary rule still in memory.

Because of this I can not suggest this version of the application at this time.

ERROR: Bundle version (4228) doesn't match kext bundle version:(4226)

sudo kextload -b at.obdev.nke.LittleSnitch
at.obdev.nke.LittleSnitch failed to load - (libkern/kext) different version/uuid already loaded; check the system/kernel logs for errors or try kextutil(8).

I wondered where 4226 came from. I found a reference in /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/loadedkextmt.plist
After deleting this file and reinstalling Little Snitch (maybe not required), it worked.
Not sure who is to blame.

This has been posted on Twitter in response to my above request;
there is no difference between those versions. You need to make sure your system is able to update the kernel boot cache.

Not meanig to sound facetious ObDev but why the different versions numbers if they’re the same? Also why would it run fine before but not now?
If I replaced one file with an identical file……………?

I looked for your response on Twitter but I couldn't find it. I saw a lot of crazy responses calling each other squirts but nothing pertaining to LS.I saw that on the LS portion of Twitter. Really strange. I am continuing to follow LS on Twitter
