DirectoryService TCP connections?

Post by fancyclown » Wed Nov 14, 2007 3:40 pm

Hi! Yesterday when I was going to download from rapidshare.com little snitch started asking if I wanted DirectoryService to accept tcp connections to port 53 (domain). This have never happened to me before on any site, and that includes rapidshare. So why ask it now? Oh and it asks for permission on both of my DNS-server addresses. please help..

The current set of factory rules seems to be a bit too restrictive in this regard. There is a rule that allows UDP connections to port 53 for DirectoryService (which is sufficient in most cases), but it doesn't allow TCP connections. We'll improve this.

In the meantime, just add a "DirectoryService / Allow TCP connections to port 53" rule to your Little Snitch configuration.
