Reviewing my login connection attempts has produced a couple of messages like this one:
com.apple.WebKit.WebContent.xpc tried to establish a connection to http://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk on TCP port 443 (https). The request was denied automatically during login.
There's no obvious reason why my system should be trying to connect to the government's tax disc site, (or the screeny site, which is another attempt). Can anyone explain what's going on here? And, more importantly, can anyone tell me how to get rid of the attempts? I can find nothing obvious by doing a seach for, for instance, the URL among system files, (visible or invisible) and my Googling hasn't produced anything.
These connection attempts are not just a one-off phenomenon - they happen on every restart.
I'm running 10.9.3, and LS 3.3.1
