Unnamed Application In Network Monitor

Post by HFTobeason » Sun Sep 30, 2007 5:48 am

NM is showing an "unnamed" application (a stock "Mac" face icon, but no name) that has made one connection since I rebooted several hours ago to a very suspicious URL: 170.231.33.59.broad.hz.gd.dynamic.163data.com.cn. Note that this domain is assigned to China. Should I be worried about this? Is there any way to get LS to block these connections? Thanks.

Further investigation has revealed that this appears to be a Tor server. I had Tor installed a long time ago, but thought I had completely uninstalled it. I cannot find any running processes that look like Tor processes - so this is still a bit of a mystery...

Did you see the file path of this process displayed next to the icon in Network Monitor?

No, I don't. I've sent an email via the beta page detailing the issue.
