munchys.com in Mac OS kernel recent connections

Post by HFTobeason » Sat Sep 22, 2007 5:06 pm

Does anyone know why I'd be seeing this URL (munchys.com) in my Mac OS kernel recent connections list? I have never knowingly visited their website - but they are a Malaysian company and I fear that my machine has somehow been compromised. Thoughts much appreciated. Thank you.

Are you running SSHD (remote access)? I'm still narrowing it down, but I think sshd is reported by Little Snitch as "Mac Os Kernel" when it performs a reverse name lookup on connection attempts.

I am running Timbuktu. I'll have to watch LS whilst a TB2 connection is active. Thanks for the clue.

New worry - I just saw two connections in Network Monitor - one from sshd to "websauce.net" and another from an unnamed, blank application to the same site. I could not figure out what might have been responsible, so I rebooted, and now neither process is in the Network Monitor list.
