VPN Binding

I have an application that I only want it to connect through my VPN. The vpn that I use has its own application which is HMA(hidemyass). There are times that the connection drops and loads another server. Sometimes I change the country server for the vpn as well and therefore the ip address changes obv. I would like to set it up so that the application only runs and continues to run through whatever vpn ip address is that I am using. I simply do not want the app (VUZE) to EVER use MY IP ADDRESS.

How do I set up Little Snitch to make sure that the app never uses my local ip address to connect while at the same time allowing that app to connect through multiple ip addresses from multiple different countries.

I'm having the same problem trying to figure out how to make little snitch to block all traffic when the VPN is down.I want all the traffic to flow in one direction... through the VPN.I've been looking around and found 3,4 threads but interestingly none of these got a single response.I suspect the software is unable to provide us with this capability since it handles traffic in a different manner compare to ipfw.If this is the case,I'd like to get a confirmation.Thanks.

I have no idea, whether this topic is still being watched, but afaik you can use LS profiles to define one profile for your vpn-connection and one for your "regular" connection. In your regular-profile, you simply deactivate all connections (you can even prevent system- and locked-apps to connect by deactivating their rules).

In my experience, LS automatically and quickly changes profiles depending on the connection. I have, for example, locked pop3-connections from mail if not on a vpn as they do not use ssl.

The feature you are referring to is called Split-Tunneling. I had similar issues a while ago since I like to use Facebook AND binge on my favorite TV shows at the same time. The thing is, when you used a VPN to unblock international channels, it logged me out of Facebook. With a lot of research, I found stumbled upon Ivacy VPN which offers this Split-Tunneling feature. I'm planning to renew my 6-month subscription this Christmas.

I have used Ivacy, it is cheaper though but it's not the optimal choice for streaming. Purevpn and nordvpn are definitely great for streaming. Try any of these free services that may help you with unblocking channels as well as sorting out the Facebook problem.

Hi 2nice,

HMA is not recommended by an experts because of many reasons but you may go for NordVPN/ExpressVPN (No server issue, no logging etc).
