Post by pmcarrion » Mon Dec 21, 2009 11:53 pm

Hello,

Please enable:

- 64bit architecture
- Ability to sync/save Little Snitch rules to MobileMe or Dropbox.

Thanks,

Agreed. Especially when it comes to saving Little Snitch rules to MobileMe or Dropbox!

percy, which advantages would you expect from a 64-bit version?

64-bit versions often tend to have an increased memory consumption due to the larger size of pointers and integer variables. The current version of Little Snitch already has a 64-bit kernel extension. It's just the other components that are still 32-bit.

I would greatly appreciate syncing LS-rules over MobileMe!

@manfred Most of Snow Leopard is 64-bit. That means that Mac OS X only loads the 64-bit versions of frameworks.

If, however, you launch a 32-bit application (say, iTunes or LaunchBar), Mac OS X has to also load 32-bit versions frameworks into memory. This is a performance hit.

dear little snitch,
i am trying to revive this thread to remind you of please adding 64bit support to little snitch. this should be quite easy, actually just a tickbox in your XCODE project, recompile and voila. lots of us are waiting for that feature. (i am having 3 licenses myself and know about other 4 registered people waiting for 64bit support of LS)

thanks!
