Option for automatically removing old entries

Post by kaz219 » Fri Jun 05, 2009 9:50 am

Hello,

I'd like to make a feature request. I think it would be a nice idea to have an option to automatically remove _allow_ entries which hasn't been hit in a certain (configurable) time, in order to keep the list short. Automatically removing entries for which the app has disapeared would be nice too.

These would be non-default options of course, so that only people who like the idea use it. Other people who think this is a security risk could just safely ignore it.

I personaly think that reducing the size of the white list ("allow" rules) is never a security risk.

Actually I like this idea for another reason. Logging. As in every attempt is logged to a text file. The UI can display the last connection attempt, but one can browse through a logfile. Plus have a pref that determines something like the overall size of the file.

I think that once what I suggest (or something very similar) is implemented, a mechanism can be set up to satisfy your request.
