blocking an incoming ip

Hello,
I am interested in purchasing the product. Will little snitch monitor every incoming IP connection (and attempts) to a machine it is installed on and monitor that IP's bandwith (if it's using any)? If so, will it also allow for a user to place an instant "block" to that ip address?

The best way to answer your questions is probably to try it out yourself. You can use Little Snitch without a license for as long as you like, but some features will turn off after a while, or until you enter a license.

The help chapter Incoming Connections should answer your questions. But generally, incoming connections are handled depending on what kind of connection they are:

Incoming TCP connections for which no existing rules define an action will result in a Connection Alert being shown (unless you’re using Silent Mode).

Incoming UDP connections are automatically denied (see Incoming Connections for more details) and you are notified about them. You can then create rules that allow or deny future connections by the same IP address.
