Re: nanoseconds

If I'm working with NS timing, will the usb interrupt get in the way? Assuming yes.. I know I can disable it and I get 20 cycles before I must re enable but I need to do some NS work for a bit more then that. I'm reading 32 bits of data and they are 6 NS apart. Not sure but I may be able to watch fo...

Re: nanoseconds

Nope, it's an inline macro. Yeah I recently learned the wonders of inline and speed. WOW. Ok so it turns out out to be able to time this pattern I need to use all ASM. I'm trying to learn asm for the first time. I'm using asm code in c, not an S file but having learning struggles. Any tips, advice ...

Re: nanoseconds

So with C I could then write _delay_us( 0.25 ) and this should give my 250 ns?

Or do I need a nop? __asm__("nop\n\t""nop\n\t""nop\n\t"); 3 nops = 250 ns?

Re: output for HID joystick

Grendel, I must have failed to explain. I have a usb device that supports multiple analog/digital devices. As for as the computer is concerned its just one usb device. So say I plug in my Dohicky1 to my usb device. I would like to see "Dohicky1" in the game controller list. Now say I unplu...

nanoseconds

This may be a really dumb question, but I have to ask. Is there anyway to get down to a nanosecond with a 12 mhz? I some how need to get .25 us. OR for that matter what is the amount of time one instruction ( comparison) of code elapses?

output for HID joystick

I have a device that uses a few projects in one, I want my user to see what is in use. ( i.e Device1 attached or Device2 attached) I was thinking of just changing the USB name. But based on my previous post, I'm now of the opinion I can't change an USB name once its been added to the registry. If I'...

Re: joystick with mouse?

rinku, thx so much, I believe I understand the report size now. BTW I needed two usbSetInterrupt calls.. You may have known this but for any future viewers.. if(must_report) { if (usbInterruptIsReady() && mouseGamePad==0) { must_report = 0; if (curGamepad->report_size == 7 ) mouseGamePad=1;/...

Re: joystick with mouse?

rinku, thx so much, I believe I understand the report size now. BTW I needed two usbSetInterrupt calls..but seems I cant get it to work right.. This example only moves the mouse and the game pad is skipped. if (curGamepad->report_size == 7 ) // should only be the case for atari { reportBuffer[0] = 0...

Re: joystick with mouse?

Not finding any examples out there, and the common example on the net is missing the keyboard_mouse file. Seems I'm not the first person to realize that. but was wondering if I'm heading in the right direction. I need the Top-Level Collection method as far as I can tell. Is it just a mater of combin...

Re: changing usb name?

ok I was able to set my device name like this dynamically, but is this method going to change when the device it switched without deleting the reg key? the Id can only be stored in one location per ID so how could it be changed? Just wondering if I missed something. Assuming the to question is false...

changing usb name?

Is there any way to change the #define USB_CFG_DEVICE_NAME later on ? I set the #define USB_CFG_DEVICE_NAME in my config, but I'd like to change this in my code main(). I only would change it once but I do a device selection and would like to find a way to state what type of device was found.

Can the usb frimware be cut down to save any flash size? I'm not even sure if it takes much up, but I need to look in to getting more room. I'm on the atmega168 now and may need to go to the mega328. Hate to think that is 1/2 the effort it took to go from the 8 to 168... Also, has anyone used the me...

Hey all, I want to adapt the ps2 example code in to my project. There are few lines I just dont understand. I'm sure its some sort of interrupt code but I need to change the pins and dont understand it. is SPCR tied to port b, and I need port c's register, as far as I can tell from the data sheet it...
