They ensure that we have a pull-up to Vcc on RESET if we don't apply a high voltage to RESET.

2012 bytes sollte kurz genug sein. Hast Du gecheckt, ob der code ueberhaupt laeuft, ob also die boot loader condition richtig funktioniert?

The code converts a binary number in the range 0 - 1023 (or whatever you get after normalization to a voltage) into a sequence of key strokes representing the digits of the decimal number. The decimal digits are found by modulo 10 (least significant digit) and division by 10 (shift out least signifi...

@follower: Thanks for these very valuable links! I'll add your project log to Metaboard because the Arduino integration is especially interesting for this prototyping board!

@apollononnno: Why to you post hex files to some threads?

ad (1): You're right. ad (2): It only disconnects the supply. This is necessary if your device has its own power supply. ad (3): I don't know. If I did know, the problem were probably fixed. ad (4): No. ad (5): The hex values from the makefile: # ATMega8 FUSE_L (Fuse low byte): # 0x9f = 1 0 ...

The auto calibration code does not cope with swapped D+ and D-. Simply modify the assembler routine usbMeasureFrameLength() to use the other data line. And check whether other parts of the auto calibration also refer to a data line...

AVR-USB has not yet been ported to CodeVision AVR. I don't know whether this is possible due to some restrictions in the compiler. But we are working on the problem together with HP Info Tech, the developers of CodeVision AVR.

Please try with the firmware and fuse values of a project which is known to work. You will very likely find a project which uses the same pins for D+ and D- and which is based on the ATMega8. This way you can prove that your hardware is OK. Then start playing around with the firmware.

The ringing suggests that the user either has a very inductive cable or that he omitted the resistors. The edges on the screen photo are pretty sharp, so it should be possible to increase the series resistors to suppress ringing. The user can also try to add capacitors to D+ and D- (several 10 pF ra...

Yes, Osamu has done a great job with that. But even with Windows XP or 2000, there are some hosts where the driver does not work. We don't (yet) know why.

You get warnings during compiling (that's OK, the project was built with an older development environment) and an error for the checksize script. Since the hex file is already built when checksize runs, you can safely ignore this error.

AVR-Doper is mostly compatible to the STK500, but it has not been built to flash AT89* devices. Sorry.
