ClipMate is the best Windows copy-paste tool out there. Its PowerPaste function is something I badly miss on my new Macbook Pro. PowerPaste works like this: - Invoke ClipMate. - Select the range of clips you want to paste from the clipboard History (displayed by default, similar to LaunchBar). - Ch...

Thanks

Are you sure that you have installed beta 6?

Mine still appears to be running okay, and the website says that it should be okay until the 1st of April.

I've answered this question here . You must not open LaunchBar to use the "Paste & Remove" shortcut. Just stay in your TextEdit window and press the shortcut. If you open LaunchBar first, it pastes to the LaunchBar window, not to the TextEdit window. So in short ... I was doing it all...

I've answered this question here . A FIFO would not deliver the desired results. The clipboard history usually already contains some items. Let's say there are 10 items in the history. If you now copy three further items, the history finally contains 13 items. Now, if you want to paste those three ...

Paste/Remove from History: Why a LIFO stack?

Rather than just a First-In First-Out queue?

Question about Paste/Remove from History?

How do you use it? I have a load of text items on the stack, I call up TextEdit and then hit ctrl-space (invoke LB) and then ctrl-opt-command-v, which should make the text at the top of the stack appear in textedit and delete it from the clipboard history. It gets deleted, but the text doesn't appea...

Re: Pasting multiple items in clipboard

I'm new to Launchbar. Is there a way to copy, say, 10 items (copy, copy, copy) into the Launchbar clipboard history, then to paste the items elsewhere in a first-in first-out manner (paste, paste, paste)? This is incredibly useful for filling fields in forms, moving selective data, etc. In Windows,...

I can definitely see why a plugin api would be a great idea, but it can be something of a double-edged sword.

Plugins often leads to instability; take a look at the Quicksilver forums on Google Groups. Even the new QSB has had the occasional crash due to third party plugins.

In LaunchBar 5 you can press Command-Right Arrow to show a folder's contents sorted by modification date. Would it be possible to make that configurable? I think that command-right arrow is often used to switch spaces isn't it? And would it be possible to press a modifier key that will group the se...

Re: Application Switching

I've been using Dragthing, which I still use because it allows me to have only the active window/app show when switching between apps. Otherwise, I can do everything else it does in Launchbar. I know you can clear all windows, etc. with Mac OS, but I really like this switching thing. Unfortunately ...

I don't recall if an item can be removed from Quicksilver's comma buffer. This is fairly easy in LaunchBar: go to your clipboard history and just delete the undesired item from the grouping. In my case, it isn't usually a problem because QS hasn't made the decision on what to do with the files unti...

The comma trick is simpler to use (especially since there is a visual clue to tell you that you have files waiting to be copied), as it doesn't require you to remember key patterns, or accessing a separate buffer to make sure that what you're copying is actually what you want to copy. Being able to...

@ FredSmith: So do you think LaunchBar's ClipMerge trick is an adequate replacement for Quicksilver's comma trick? Well I managed to get it working, but I wouldn't call it an adequate replacement, no. The comma trick is simpler to use (especially since there is a visual clue to tell you that you ha...

The difference is that QS can do it without having to go to the Finder, and that really is a big difference. You have to play around with Quicksilver's comma function to see why this is requested by lots of people here. Yeah, Quicksilver's comma trick for selecting multiple items is neat. But other...
