I assume just like sending bug reports. There's a button on the bottom of this page: http://www.obdev.at/products/launchbar/support.html Or you can go to Help -> Feedback & Support… in LaunchBar, which takes you to the same web page but can also automatically include your version number. -Dennis

Sure, just copy it from the web page and paste it into Firefox's address field. It should work with any browser on the Mac (nothing Safari-specific about it).

I agree with Jono here. Using the Finder's progress bar seems the most consistent to me. I think it would actually be less confusing than LaunchBar having its own. Multiple Finder progress bars also get nicely grouped together in one window, so all pending copies and moves, whether initiated from th...

I haven't noticed a need to double-tap really fast either. A regular speed double-tap seems to work fine.

The old icon wasn't bad but it always reminded of those carnival balloons that clowns tie into little animal shapes. :-)

Wow, I thought my index was big at 18k items! I don't know if it still holds true, but back in January 2007, Norbert recommended an index size of around 30,000 items or less for LaunchBar 4. Here's the thread: http://forums.obdev.at/viewtopic.php?t=237 Clearly, LaunchBar 5 is working with a lot more...

FWIW, I have about 18,000 items in my index and LaunchBar uses only 30 MB of real memory at launch. This seems to climb a bit with regular usage, usually stabilizing around 40 MB. I have seen it climb to as high as 65 MB after sub-searching on an unindexed folder containing 7,000 PDFs and web archiv...

If I have time maybe I'll throw something together. It sounds like it'd be fun to try out. I'll be sure to post back here if I do. But you should still send a feature request to Objective Development. I'm sure they could come up with something a lot better than my AppleScript. Unfortunately, I think...

Re: Request for "Shelf"

...the Shelf basically stores references to the original objects unless it's text. Hmm, sounds like that could be handled with AppleScript too. Just create two handlers: ⋅ Use this handler to deal with text passed to the action by creating a new Text Clip from the input in a predetermined...

Re: Request for "Shelf"

From your link, this idea sounds similar to LaunchBar's Text Clips feature except that you can add new snippets of text from within Quicksilver. With LaunchBar's Text Clips, you need to create them ahead of time. Of course, I suppose you could write an AppleScript action to take an input string and ...

Re: Do you icon..?

Just an informal poll - are most people running LB as a regular application, or are most people running in hidden dock mode? I started using LaunchBar right around the time version 4 came out. I've always run it as a regular app too, with icon in Dock. I think the main reason I keep the icon in the...

Thanks for the update, beejay. When I didn't see it in the release notes, I was wondering if it had been addressed but hadn't had a chance to test.

When you see LaunchBar using 400+ MB, how much free memory do you have remaining (green area on the System Memory pie graph in Activity Monitor)? Do you see other apps paging out? If there's free memory remaining, I wouldn't worry about this issue. Mac OS X's memory management is pretty sophisticate...

There should be an Append Text action already included in LaunchBar, but I can't find it in the latest beta. Append Text appears in the contextual Action Menu when you have a text file on the bar. Just hit Control-Right Arrow to see the menu, or use the Command-Shift-A to access the command directl...

The Modifier Taps settings are for invoking LaunchBar and Instant Send with only a modifier key (Command, Option, Control, etc.). For example, with "Search in LaunchBar" set to "Double Command", I can hit the Command key twice in quick succession to open LaunchBar. I find this fe...
