In LaunchBar, go to Help -> Feedback & Support. This will take you to a web page that'll walk you through the process.

I'm not sure what else OD could do except perhaps send an attractive blonde to your door with a pen and notepad to jot down your message in person.

Re: UI needs feedback improvement

The fix here can be super simple: close the search results tray before the big blocking call is made. Have you tried running the script in the background using Option-Return? Also, maybe this isn't what you're looking for, but you could have your script provide feedback itself, perhaps using Growl ...

What about the problem of it showing double entries? After assigning abbreviations to some folder they show up twice. One version saying it's an indexing rule & the other version as a 'normal' entry. That's not happening because you've assigned abbreviations to them. That happens because your P...

In QS, the comma operation is not going onto the clipboard; it is stored on an internal list from which you can then execute pretty much any command that supports multiple files. Because QS is extensible, it would be a mistake for the developers to assume that all file operations would be based aro...

Nice script, Ludwig. I'm going to save that one. :-)

And I think you're right, LaunchBar's clippings are not designed to work with OS X's clippings. At least the manual doesn't mention it, nor can I get it to work in my tests.

To expand on Ludwig's response, you can add the .clip extension to the name of any text or RTF file to make LaunchBar treat it as a clipping (i.e. example.clip.txt or example.clip.rtf).

The comma trick is simpler to use (especially since there is a visual clue to tell you that you have files waiting to be copied), as it doesn't require you to remember key patterns, or accessing a separate buffer to make sure that what you're copying is actually what you want to copy. Being able to...

You can just hit the delete key to delete individual items from the clipboard history. Maybe that's not as quick as a "delete all" or "clear clipboard history" command, but it's still faster than going into the preferences to do it, I think.

You can for example start with a file selected in a Finder window, add some other files from another window, add further files from LaunchBar, and finally paste them all at once to the desired destination folder. Very nice. I didn't realize this was working so well. For some reason, I thought that ...

That isn't really a replacement for the comma trick. If I want to select multiple files in LB, then I have to keep switching between the Finder and Launchbar. In QS, I can copy multiple files without leaving Quicksilver. You really need to try it fora few days; the difference is like night and day....

Re: Choose the right app

Together was intolerably slow on older system I've tested it on; Yojimbo was acceptable. My experience is also that Together gets very slow with large databases. With close to 3,500 items, it was almost unusable. With Yojimbo, on the other hand, there appears to be no performance difference at all ...

Looks like this was fixed in b5. From the release notes:

The clipboard history selection is now preserved. Reopening the clipboard history now selects the previously selected history item.

The difference is that QS can do it without having to go to the Finder, and that really is a big difference. You have to play around with Quicksilver's comma function to see why this is requested by lots of people here. Yeah, Quicksilver's comma trick for selecting multiple items is neat. But other...

Is there another method of viewing that CM? Not that I know of, at least with the keyboard. You can, of course, right-click or Control-click on the selected LaunchBar item to see the CM, but that requires mouse interaction. Isn't Control-right arrow usually the standard shortcut for a right click? ...

And to see all of the available commands (and their keyboard shortcuts) that can be performed on a selected item, hit Control-right arrow to bring up the contextual menu. Note that the contents of the contextual menu varies depending on what kind of item you currently have selected on the bar. -Dennis
