New Action - Say in Korean

Just made my first action using the action editor. Obscenely easy. Really quite amazed by what you've done, Objective Development! If you're learning Korean, but mostly use your Mac in English, this may be of use (for ... Bueller?) It assumes you've already installed the "Yuna" voice in sy...

Holy heck! Congratulations on the new update!

Wow.

Just got the new update. The Action Editor was unexpected, and a great step for managing extensions. Really can't wait to spend a bit of time playing with this.

Thanks again to the team for keeping LB fresh and up-to-date!

Re: How to search for a file with a space in the title

You don't need to - just keep typing the letters, deftly skipping over any urge to press the space bar. The rest of the letters will match the file name.

... or am I missing something?

Re: CONTACTS and BOOKMARK index probe w 6.1.2

I've just applied the update as well. Contacts and bookmarks seemed to index fine for me - sorry, I know it's no help, but it confirms that it's working for at least some people.

It's a stupid turn-it-off-turn-it-on answer, but maybe trying to clear your index and rebuilding it may shake it up?

Re: [LB6 Action] Paths: copy a file path to the clipboard

Not to wee on everybody's fire here, but when I'm looking at a file in Launchbar, I just * Alt → (shows the object metadata) * ↓ (you may need a couple of taps - this takes you to the 'path' attribute of the item) * CTRL C (puts the path on the clipboard) If you wanted to get the path to the contain...

Re: GOODBYE LB6

Yup, I too have found them really helpful. A feature I asked for magically appeared within days in the 6.0.1 update. For me, that's unprecedented. I used to have a 500mb footprint with LB5. I checked what I was indexing and found a lot of stuff I wasn't interested in, or not using any more (spotligh...

Re: Beginners Support

Cmd-Alt-Shift 4, then instead of clicking, press space (the cursor turns to a camera), *then* click.

Basically, the standard screenshot function, but press space before clicking to turn it into a window capture mode.

Re: LaunchBar search

This got me for a couple of things, but it's just a matter of retraining it - I think (as a user, not developer of LB, this is my mental model of it!) If you type 'go' then hunt down for 'google search' before pressing space, it reinforces that 'google search' is the best response to 'go'. After a c...

Is it possible to change the file list order when browsing?

Wondering if there's a technique I've missed to change the listing order when browsing directories on the file system? I went to my Downloads folder and was lost with the ordering - I need 'date added'! I realised this functionality makes no sense anywhere else in Launchbar, so is probably not imple...

Re: what happened to the append text action?

Charmjf, +1 for me. Makes a sound and drops back to a normal text action when I instant-send, tab, browse to a file, then pick 'append text to file'.

Re: 'Press the space bar to trigger text input'

Roller, try this: Bring up Launchbar Type 'runapp', press the right arrow on your keyboard, then use up/down keys to pick a running app. Press the 'tab' key. This tells Launchbar 'I want to do something with this running application'. A new menu appears of options of what you can do appears. I can p...

+1, would also find this enormously useful. Using LaunchBar more and more as the default search interface for *all* my applications.

Re: DayOne Logging Script

Here's a new-year update for you all... or maybe just me -- LaunchBar tie-in function on handle_string(logText) if (length of logText is not 0) then do shell script ("echo " & quoted form of logText & " | ~/.bin/dayone new") end if open location "x-launchbar:hide&quo...
