Speaking of Perl…

jwz's comments in the mork.pl script LB uses to read the Mozilla URL history file are hilarious.

Thanks for the explanations. Not that it's easier, but I just discovered that the Send to LaunchBar service shortcut (default: Shift-Command-F1) also invokes Instant Send with the current selection. Also noticed that if only an image is selected when Instant Send is triggered you hear its sound even...

I'd recently noticed more apps launching in the background, too, but hadn't connected it with LB5. I was ready to blame Spaces getting futzed-up again. ;)

I concur, and already prefer ⌥⌘I to ⌘Y anyway. :)

Right, which isn't the Option-Shift-V Paste Style shortcut that Norbert mentioned and you're stealing for LB's Show clipboard history.

Using TextEdit as a reference, I think you're confusing Format > Front > Paste Style [Option-Command-V] with Edit > Paste and Match Style [Option-Shift-Command-V].

Pasting a style != pasting with style. :)

It's pretty tricky to find a shortcut that's easy to access but doesn't conflict with shortcuts of other applications. That's an understatement. From Daring Fireball: Losers, Weepers , my favorite shortcut snafu article: If Apple wants to provide a useful, standard, system-wide human interface for ...

I wouldn't mind any format of the LB help that's viewable offline with AirSharing on my iPod touch.

Edit: Thanks for the reminder that the help is HTML in a self-contained folder hierarchy, which I've copied to and can easily browse offline on my iPod.

You're joking, right? Hardly a day goes by when one of several clipboard utilities doesn't get an update posted on MacUpdate/VersionTracker.

it might be appropriate to display a warning dialogue when rules with more than, say, 30k items are added. What do you think? Would a warning dialogue be more annoying than helpful, or would it be able to help avoiding these performance issues? In general those types of confirmation dialogs are mor...

Can someone provide an example of using the Services menu via LB? The services menu items do not show up in my configuration, so perhaps that's why I'm having trouble. I'm interested in this feature, too. So far I've noticed this in the Release 4.2 beta 1 notes: • Services menu support: It's now po...

Re: Not sure I agree

But it just seems like a fairly low priority to me. Maybe you mean, "low priority for me"? That's how the priority of this is for me anyway. I use Fn keys for jumping between nonadjacent virtual "desktops" in VirtueDesktops, which may change after migrating to Spaces in Leopard ...

So, the difference is tapping/releasing the key vs. holding it down? In other words, QS doesn't activate until the key is released (possibly with a timeout)? Glad it works for you though I still have my doubts it would for me based on my typing style being "sloppy" in a way that risks trig...

Right now, this option excludes folders with a matching name, so if there are multiple subfolders with that name, they will all be excluded. Is that mostly intended for excluding folders with the same name that always serve the same purpose? Something like .svn or RCS, for instance, although those ...

How do you use the Control key modifier in other apps if it's mapped as a global single-key activation character for Quicksilver? For example, seems to me that would interfere with its use as a default prefix for Cocoa Text System key bindings. I dunno -- using single-key modifiers that have other i...
