Pleased to say LaunchBar has never crashed in the 1.5 years I've been using it. Kudos to obdev for maintaining its high degree of stability. 10.5.x Finder has the dishonor of being the most crashy OS X app ever, since 10.1. And Safari crashes that were rare on 10.4 have increased on 10.5.

Good point, ludwigschubert; thanks. isharan hadn't explicitly said which context a single Escape wasn't hiding LB5, nor did I say "before searching". A full list and descriptions of LB5 shortcuts (with any context-dependent differences) would sure be helpful. Before posting I'd searched do...

Re: Toggle on/off

With Command-Tab as the Search in LaunchBar shortcut a single Escape cancels/hides 5.0 beta5 (632) running on 10.5.6 here.

Right you are. I asked the wrong person, forgetting you're not the script's original creator. :)

I know; I was just curious how the default name was chosen.

Just curious, is there any significance to "djoipqwjr" in the ~/.Trash/screenshot.djoipqwjr.png screencapture pathname or did you randomly generate it?

I use Control-(Arrow|Number) for Spaces switching, but it's also configurable with Command- and Option- modifiers.

I agree, for at least reasons and examples like you've mentioned.

I haven't found any indication that LB5 is using FSEvents. Still looking for a definite method to determine if apps do/don't, e.g. using DTrace.

Little doubt Together is better than Yojimbo for open data access but not necessary overall. Together was intolerably slow on older system I've tested it on; Yojimbo was acceptable.

I stand corrected. You're right, of course. Just reporting my observations. Something might have been misconfigured on my system, of course. The documentation hasn't yet been fully updated to LB5. Hopefully to include a handy overview of keyboard shortcuts. The gear wheel menu no longer contains ac...

You can also use Option-Control-Right Arrow or Command-Control-Right Arrow. For me the former show the same menu as clicking the gear (with About LaunchBar at the top); the latter shows the same menu as a control or right mouse click (or a click-and-hold in the right place). Documentation says: To ...

You can, of course, right-click or Control-click on the selected LaunchBar item to see the CM, but that requires mouse interaction. D'oh! Of course; thanks for the reminder. Last time I brought up that menu was probably using Control-Right Arrow while my system was still running Tiger. Fine to temp...

Is there another method of viewing that CM? I use Control-<Left/Right-Arrow> for Spaces and would rather not to change them.

From the documentation:

Press Command-Return to show selected files or folders in Finder, or to reveal a contact item in Address Book

That'll open the containing folder with the active file/folder selected.

Nope. :)

Seems iTunes rating are read-only, as you say.
