Yay! Dennis, you mean we don't have to control LaunchBar via URLs anymore? Cool! Although… I kind of liked the geekyness of controlling an app via URLs, so… PS: So Applescript support and URL support… somebody else thinks it's time to enable LaunchBar to import those "Search Templates" wit...

Yeah, sjk… you're right!
Only two days after I wrote the last post I've already caught myself using it alot.
Somehow ⌥⌘I is more intuitive for an Index than ⌘Y for an… Yndex I guess.

Hm. You're right, that would be useful, but I can't get it to work, either. I searched through my index looking for stuff I might have disabled, but I found nothing. Maybe the text was left on the homepage accidentally? I just tried with a completely new index, no "Items grouped by kind" e...

Well, that's still not exactly working.
For example, you can't send those several items on your clipboard to a specific action at the same time, can you?
And you need ClipMerge for it. (Which would be OK, I guess)

You can add a line to the beginning of your script that hides LaunchBar:
open location "x-launchbar:hide"

Yep, bigcloits is right, the official term for that is "instant send". You get a sound confirmation and an orange arrow in LaunchBar to confirm that you're in instant send mode. Then you can type to select a service and it will work as expected. This also applies to the Open URL service.

Currently there is no possibility to instant-send clipboard history items, but there will be. (You can try it by right-arrowing into a multiple line clipboard item and pressing tab) But then there will be, you'll be able to simply press tab and select the "Copy and paste as plain text" act...

Re: LB5 How do I restrict search to some file types?

Following some tips from the website, I tried to restrict a search by file type, but when I type "KIND" I don't see this category (I also could not find it in the Categories catalog). I'd like to know where you got this tip from... To search only for a specific file kind, simply type the ...

Re: Indexing documents

Or is Launchbar not a replacement for Spotlight? Yes and No. LaunchBar is not supposed to replace spotlight. If you want a folder to be indexed - for example if it includes files you use regularly - you can add it manually as described above. I use it in the way that only my folders are indexed, so...

Yes, the new shortcut already works... (if that wasn't a rhetorical question :) )
We'll get used to it, I guess one can give it up for the sake of consistency.

"How can I export this from my iMac to the MBP?" Copy the settings from your iMac which are located at ~/Library/Application Support/LaunchBar/ to the same directory on your MBP. Note that some items will be invalid because the files they are referencing aren't on your MBP. regards, Ludwig

Well, you can always just copy the item ( ⌘C ) and paste it with ⌘⇧V into LaunchBar. Now that's a workaround. What should be possible IMHO is to press tab or some equivalent to use it directly in LaunchBar. Note that at the moment you can't use tab to instant-send the items in the ...

Yes, the shortcuts conflict :)
I like your suggestion: use ⌘I for the index.

However, you can submit an official feature request to Objective Development here.
They might or might not read the forums at the moment, so this seems the better way to send bugs etc. you've found in the beta.

In the threads I mentioned above Objective Development said they wanted to do it themselves but didn't know how.
So if you contact them, I'm pretty sure they'll let you post it everywhere you like or even publish it on their own site.

This question has been discussed previously:

http://forums.obdev.at/viewtopic.php?t= ... t=pdf+help

However, maybe with the new version Objective Development has created a PDF help file – it does not seem likely, however.

On a personal question, can you tell me what you'd want the PDF for?
