Re: New feature idea "History Log"

I'd LOVE to see a logging function added. Everything dumped into a tab delimited text file. I could then dump the raw data into Excel or a DB for whatever analysis I wanted to make. I think this is the simplest and quickest way to get there, without a lot of coding by ObjDev.

Re: Strange FF 3.5.2 outgoing requests

I suspect what you are seeing is the fact that a LOT of sites want to connect to a LOT of other sites for ad crap. I find it totally out of control... top pages takes forever to load because that one page has to connect to maybe half to a dozen other servers. Way too many of such sites remind me of ...

Re: Suggestion: packet sniffer in network monitor

Speaking of which, I'd really like to see an ability to locate the network monitor display where I want.

Re: Block subdomains?

Me too, although I'd like an option to block or allow the TLD, so all subdomains are equally affected. Having an option to block TLDs or not is the most flexible way go to to cover the most number of customers.

Re: Sugestion: Typical aplication/rule dictionary

Looks like a bunch of OS services, some of which I think may be defaulted to "allow."

BTW, the UI allows for one to add notes for each service allowed or not. Might be an idea to search out a dictionary of OS X services...

Re: Can LS Use Block Lists?

Far as I know, PeerGuardian blocks attempts of outside servers to access your machine... LS blocks software on your machine from contacting outside servers.

Re: Heavy incoming traffic not showing up in Network Monitor

Set MenuMeter's Network monitor to "Throughput." You'll see Tx (transmit, not covered by LS) and Rx (received, what LS catches) and data in the menubar.

Re: General Connection IN/OUT traffic count.

He said speed, not count. I'd go with MenuMeters, a free prefpane. It can meter (all results in the menubar) CPU, disk i/o, memory and network traffic, all with a good degree of configuration. I have Tx and Rx listed which falls right above the Network Monitor of LS.

Re: Little Snitch blocked everything

By default, at first LS does tend to block a lot of stuff (there are default open holes for some of Apple's software, Safari and mail) as well it should be doing. The point of the software is to allow you to chose what to allow and not allow. If it was wide open, you'd never get a chance to tell wha...

Re: Installed trial, uninstalled, and it keeps bothering!!

First, look for: /System/Library/Extensions/LittleSnitch.kext If it's there, that's the problem. The uninstaller SHOULD have gotten rid of it. If you see it,.. I'd re-boot in safe mode (restart, press and hold the shift key until you see your desktop appear... this will take a LKNG time). Then run t...

Disclosure Trangles

Now that I've been using 2.1.x for a few weeks, I see one annoying issue in the Rules List. There are no disclosure triangles for each app listed. After all, it is very much a standard Mac UI thing! Granted, this may mean more to folks who might tend NOT to given total blanket permission to any one ...

Re: Option for automatically removing old entries

Actually I like this idea for another reason. Logging. As in every attempt is logged to a text file. The UI can display the last connection attempt, but one can browse through a logfile. Plus have a pref that determines something like the overall size of the file. I think that once what I suggest (o...

Re: Factory Defaults

On installing 433, it seems that another factory default got added (correct?). A rule for Front Row seems to have been added. It was actually very noticeable as it was tagged an invalid rule, which is should be because it doesn't exist on my system.

Invalid Rules?

First, thanks for fixing the issue with dnetc being tagged as an invalid rule. Running 433 now and I seem to have acquired another one: action: allow process: /tmp/.ksda.0/ksurl destination: cache.pack.google.com port: any protocol: any help: wants to connect to cache.pack.google.com on TCP port 8...

Factory Defaults

Not much of a stretch to view rules with the lock icons as part of the factory defaults. BUT there are others that do not have a lock icon (I got a bunch of Apple mail rules and I do not use that at all... so it has to be factory default). There's a pop up to only view specific types of rules, which...
